Fake news has become a business model

 New Delhi, Fake news has become a business model for mainstream media. This was the view of 
Pratik Sinha, co-founder of AltNews.in, at the 14th HashtagAdda, organized by
StudioAdda on ‘Fake News: Kya hai is jhoot ka sach?’at the Constitutional Club of India. Pratik, talking about
the seriousness of the issue of fake news, said that it becomes a dangerous exercise even when something as
intrinsic to democracy as elections become plagued by misinformation, thereby influencing popular vote. He argued that this
‘epidemic’ was only highlighted when the Indian Parliament raised this issue.
The other speaker at the event was Gurmehar Kaur, She elucidated
on how her personal life was attacked through the ‘fake news machinery’ which
discredited whatever she had said in the video.
